I came to the conclusion that the best way to deal with illness and disease would be to invent a time-machine, travel back in time to identify the cause of the illness and eliminate it. In view of the fact that such time-travel technology is in scare supply at the moment, the next best thing available is a worldwide programme of vaccination and immunisation against preventable illnesses and diseases in the developing world. Unicef is the world's largest organisation committed to delivering immunisation programmes to children in developing countries. Before a disease can be eliminated, someone needs to find out what makes it tick. If someone someone hadn't found out what made my illness tick, I wouldn't be here to be rambling on about time-machines. These two charities are my own personal choices, there are many other worthy causes being supported by other participants in the Tour d'Afrique.
